If you're a beauty enthusiast, you already know that the Sephora Spring Sale is just about to start, giving us all the chance to shop our favorite makeup and beauty brands with a 10 to 15% off discount! Are you looking for inspiration? Not sure what to spend your hard earn money on? Keep reading for tips and my selection of the newest and most exciting beauty products from French brands!

Sephora Spring Sale: facts and tips

The sale dates and discounts are different depending on your level in the Sephora loyalty program, but they are valid both in-store and online:
- 15% off from 4/18 to 4/24 for VIB Rouge (highest level) - code is ROUGESPRING for online orders
- 15% off from 4/19 to 4/24 for VIB - code is VIBSPRING
- 10% off from 4/20 to 4/23 for BI (Beauty Insider, anyone who signs up for the program) - code is BISPRING

A difference of just one day doesn't sound like much, but many of the most popular and trending products can sell out within the first few hours. If your entire wish list is sold out by the time it's your turn to shop, don't despair! Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Sometimes, products get re-stocked during the sale. It's rare, but it has happened in the past. So keep watching because:
- You can use your code as many times as you want during the sale.
- The discount also applies to items that are already on sale, so take a look at the sale page on Sephora's website.
- If you signed up for Flash delivery, any online order ships for free. If you sign up during the sale, the discount does not apply to the cost of Flash ($10 a year) but will apply to the rest of your order, and you can take advantage of Flash immediately. If you don't have Flash, orders of more than $50 ship free.
- If you are a member of Sephora loyalty program but didn't receive an email or postcard with the coupon, you can still use the codes I provided above for online orders. And if you shop in-store, the sales associates should be able to apply the discount to your purchase as well.

12 new French beauty products to put in your cart

Okay maybe not all 12 of them... but then why not?

- Lancôme Matte Shaker: you know that I loved the original Lancôme Juicy Shaker, launched last year, a sheer but colorful lip oil that comes in a bunch of different flavors. I'm really excited to try the brand new Matte version! I hope the shades I want won't be sold out by the time the sale opens for VIBs, which is my current status!

- from Lancôme again, the new Click & Glow Highlighting Skin Fluid: surfing the highlight craze, the brand has released no less than 4 different highlighter formulas in the past year, and this is the newest, liquid version, after the cream, the cushion and the Rose (links to my reviews)

- Givenchy Le Rouge Les Saisons Corail Gypsophila: you know that I collect the Givenchy Le Rouge lipsticks, so of course I want this summer limited edition in its special packaging! Here the leather case is not the usual black but a fresh mint. This lipstick still says "Coming Soon" on the website, and I have all 20 fingers and toes crossed that it will become available during the sale! If you prefer your lipstick sheer and glossy, they also have a limited summer edition of the Pret-a-Porter formula in Red Gypsophila.

- Caudalie Vine[Activ] 3-in-1 Moisturizer: or anything in the new Vine[Activ] line really! Everything skincare brand Caudalie makes contains grape extract (they are based in the Bordeaux region), packed with antioxidants.

- Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Lashdress Mascara: variations around Guerlain's cult La Petite Robe Noire fragrance appear to be limitless. After lipsticks, nail lacquers, a palette, a lip & cheek tint, here comes the mascara! You can't deny that its tube is completely unique and beautiful. It's supposed to do it all: volume, length, curl and definition, in a deep black shade.

- Mon Guerlain: talking about Guerlain fragrance, here's the brand's newborn. People seem to fixate on Angelina Jolie being the face of this scent's commercials, but no, this warm and sweet perfume with notes of lavender, jasmine and vanilla wasn't inspired by her.

- Givenchy Healthy Glow Powder Les Saisons Gypsophila: another item from Givenchy's summer 2017 collection, this large bronzer has an stunning floral pattern. I kind of want it, but I'm not sure I'd use it, just because I'd be afraid to see the pattern disappear!

- Dior Hydra Life Deep Hydration Sorbet Water Essence: yep, Dior is now making an essence! At $73 it's a bit pricey compared to what Asian skincare brands can offer, but that's what sales are for! Besides this essence, Dior relaunched the entire Hydra Life range with a ton of new products, including 3 different masks.

- YSL Volupté Tint-in-Balm: the brand already had Tint-in-Oil, Oil-in-Stick, and now a Tint-in-Balm. What's next, a Balm-in-Oil? Anyways, these cute lip balms have a moisturizing core shaped like lips! The lighter shades are very, very sheer, so pick one of the brighter or deeper shades if you want visible color on your pout.

- Diorshow Pump N Volume mascara: Dior mascaras are usually very good in my experience (my favorite is the Iconic), so I don't see any reason why this brand new one should be the exception. What makes this mascara unique, however, is that the tube is... squeezable. Yup. This is supposed to load the brush with mascara for extreme volume. I don't particularly look for volume in my mascara (I want length and curl) but it sounds really intriguing!

- YSL Touche Eclat Glow Shot: at $42 for a small tube, that's not a liquid highlighter I'm ready to buy at full price to be honest! But the sale makes it a little more affordable so I'm tempted to try it. Supposedly, you can use it all over the face under foundation, mix it with foundation, or apply on the high points of the face as a traditional highlighter, and it comes in 3 shades. If the glow is not your thing, YSL has also recently launched a white shade of its classic Touche Eclat to use in your highlight/contour routine.

- Dior Addict Lacquer Stick: I reviewed this new lipstick formula a couple weeks ago. If you love glossy yet intense lip color, you need to try it! Of the 2 shades I tried LA Pink is the one I'd recommend.

UPDATE: What I Bought!

I didn't waste no time to place TWO orders! One with French only products that I want to review for you, the other with stuff I just had my eyes on. Here's the first one:

That's the Givenchy limited edition summer bronzer, YSL tinted balm (I ordered Desire Me Pink) and Lancôme Matte Shaker (in Beige Vintage). I usually do my best to get swatches of most shades when I review a new product, so expect to see more than these 2 colors when the time comes for them to be the star of a #FrenchFriday post!
I was hoping that Sephora would have the new Lancôme summer collection by now, I would have grabbed the collector bronzer/blush as well. I'll keep an eye out to see if they receive it by the end of the sale. And I already have one of the liquid metallic eyeshadows in this collection that I'll show you on Friday!

And then the other goodies. Did I mention it's my birthday soon?

That is my biggest Sephora order ever... Birthday, I said!
Anyways, here's what I got:

- Dior Nude Air Serum foundation: I wanted some light base for the spring/summer, and then I thought, why not go back to this product that I loved? I got it in 020 Light Beige, which is the shade I've used in the past.

- Benefit Galifornia: hey I'm proud of being a California girl too! Califrench maybe? I've read great things about this coral blush so boom, in my cart.

- Too Faced new highlighter: this one is getting very mixed reviews, but this lighter shade looks so pretty that I feel like I should try. I also prefer my highlight very subtle so I might not be as demanding as the average beauty addict in terms of pigmentation. The good thing about Sephora US is that if I don't like it, I'll send it back!

- Nars x Charlotte Gainsbourg Velvet Duo eyeshadow in Old Church Street: I wanted more things from this new collection (Lip Pencil in London Clinic, Multiple Tint in Cote Basque) but I couldn't find them so I assume they were already sold out. As I'm writing this, the entire collection seems to be gone now!

- Nars Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in Laguna: am I the only one to find the chevron pattern mesmerizing? Anyways, I'm expecting to love this matte bronzer and Laguna seemed to be the best shade for me (not pink, not orange).

- Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit: I've been trying a lot of sunscreens in the past year and I want to test more. I've found some I like a lot, but not my Holy Grail of sunscreens. Plus minis are great for travelling, and to keep in your purse for re-application throughout the day.

Things I couldn't get: the Givenchy lipstick I showed you above. Both the Le Rouge and Prêt-à-Porter went from Coming Soon to Sold Out, I never saw them available...
