Summer is the season when I like my eye makeup to be very simple, my lips to be juicy, and my cheeks to be lightly bronzed or flushed in coral tones. Natural, feminine and beach ready! Blushes and bronzers become the central part of my makeup - I often decide what to wear on my lips and eyes depending on the cheek du jour.

Let me show you 10 of the best cheek products to wear this summer! Some of them are new, others are old-time favorites that I've enjoyed using in the past few years and took out of my drawers as soon as the temperatures rose.





Let's take a closer look at what my favorite blushes and bronzers are, in no particular order:



1- Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder: the one pictured here is the summer 2016 limited edition that I reviewed a couple weeks ago, but there is a shade for everyone in this iconic bronzer range. It's incredibly finely milled and very flattering for a warm touch of sun tan.

2- theBalm Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush: I've been a fan of quirky brand theBalm for a long time, and their Balm Desert doesn't disappoint. It's a beautiful neutral bronzer with a gentle rose undertone that gives cheeks a nice glow with its soft shimmery finish.

3- Michael Kors Bronze Powder in Flush: this warm coppery rose shimmery bronzer is perfect to give cheeks a sunkissed look while adding a pretty glow. Could also work as a highlighter on deeper skin tones. I've had it for a while and always come back to it in the summer. You can read the review I wrote a while back for more details.

4- Lancôme Cushion Blush Subtil in 31 Splash Orange: perfect to give my cheeks a happy peachy tint, and the cushion packaging is fun to use! This cushion blush by Lancôme is more pigmented than you think, check out my full review to see swatches of all the shades available at Sephora.

5- Smashbox LA Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color in Silver Lake Sunset: I fell in love with this illuminating stick when it was released last year, and I'm all over it this year again! It gives the most gorgeous "golden hour" glow to my cheek bones while adding just a bit of peachy bronze color. See my full review for more swatches! More colors have been added to the range this year, but some of them are shimmer-free cream blushes. I strongly recommend the shimmery shades instead!

6- Lancôme Glow Subtil Silky Crème Highlighter in Glowing Lights: okay, this is a highlighter and not a blush or bronzer, but it's perfect for summer! It also adds a bit of warm color to my cheeks, and the glow it creates is so, SO gorgeous. From soft and natural for healthy-looking skin to in-your-face opaque highlight if you build it. 7- Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Peach Beach: another peachy bronze with shimmer, are you seeing a pattern emerge here?? This cute heart is a baked bronzer/blush with a luminous finish, probably best suited for light to medium skin tones. See my full review for more details.

8- Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush in Water Lily: this has to be the most gorgeous liquid blush I've ever used. It looks like a crazy pink coral in its little jar, but it can be blended to a sheer wash of color for a fresh, juicy cheek. Read my full review for more details and swatches.

9- Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Poppy Paradise: the swatch looks patchy and completely sheer but don't let it turn you away! On the cheeks this turns into a gorgeous tint for a naturally flushed look. Best applied with fingertips.

10- Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip & Cheek Creamy Oil in Endless Guava: perfect for dry-skinned gal, this creamy oil is highly pigmented but easy to blend. Not quite as hydrating as I hoped on dry lips, but still better than a regular lip stain, and it last a really long time.
