May Favorites

Here's a recap of the most-used products in my stash for the month of May.

- Smashbox Double Exposure palette ($52). I've been using it a lot since I bought it in the beginning of the month, and I'm still not done testing all the shades! So far, it's a very good palette with a few fantastic shades and a couple that were a bit less stellar, though still very usable. The mattes in general don't blend quite as easily as I would have wanted, but I'm still in love with the color selection. I've posted quite a few looks done with this palette on Instagram. Review to come this month.

- Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Melted Fig ($21). I'm not getting tired of this rich, beautiful shade of plum. So flattering and easy to apply for such an intense shade. See my full review for details.

- Lancôme Grandiose Mascara ($32). I've had this mascara for a while and I can say it's one of the best I've ever tried. I like the "swan neck" wand shape as it helps grab the lashes in the outer corner and pull them up. It's also pretty good at curling/holding the curl which is the most important thing a mascara must do for me. Review to come soon.

- Benefit Gimme Brow ($24). I think it's safe to say that this product changed my brow game. It's so easy to use and gives me polished brows in seconds. Now a must-have for me. Review to come soon.

- It Cosmetics flat top kabuki. This brush was part of a 4-piece kabuki set that the brand released last Christmas and that I scored on sale a few months ago. This is the one kabuki I use the most out of the four. It's great to buff powder foundation into the skin for higher coverage. I also use it a lot with a yellow powder to cover the redness on my cheeks. It's a multi-tasker that also works well with cream products, and it's baby-butt soft and fluffy. If all It Cosmetics brushes are that good, then I'll never buy a brush by another brand! I'll show you the whole kit one these days.

- Lancôme Shine Lover Lipstick in French Sourire ($25). I know I won't stop raving about this lipstick, but trust me that's because it's really great. Shiny, semi-opaque, vibrant, comfortable and long-wearing, what else could you want? Read my full review for more details.

- Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Foundation ($57). I received a sample in a shade that I thought would be too dark, and one day I decided to try it. Wow, this is good. It is really natural, luminous and radiant, the result on me is not unlike Dior Nude Air, but with higher coverage. I'm considering buying the full-size, but it's so crazy expensive...

- bareMinerals BB Cream Eyeshadow ($18). This is still my go-to cream shadow when I want to erase the darkness and unevenness on my lids to look awake and healthy. I wear it at least 3 times a week. I noticed that it started getting thicker and I blame it on the crappy packaging. See all details in my full review

- Too Faced Sweethearts Blush in Beach Peach ($30). I've been using it a lot to add a subtle luminous, warm glow to my cheeks. Review here

  1. Looks like some great items. I've yet to try any of the Melted lipsticks. I think I need to cave and finally pick one or two. Melted Fig sure is a pretty one!
