The Best of French Beauty: La-Roche-Posay Ceralip

I have always been plagued with very dry lips, and regular lip balms that people usually love, like Carmex or Eos, do nothing for me.

It can get very severe in the winter, when the cold weather makes my poor lips crack and bleed - painful and looking atrocious! Well, of course, I don't think I will suffer so much now in San Diego, with winters here being so warm. But last year, my last winter in France was extremely cold, with 2 horrible weeks of constant freezing temperatures and -15°C at night (google tells me that's 5°F). Brrrr!

My lips were a sore, raw mess, and I was desperate to find a treatment to ease the pain and repair them. I followed the advice of fellow French-speaking blogger My Beauty, who lives in Québec where winter survival tricks are a necessity, and bought Ceralip Lip Repair Cream from La-Roche-Posay. In France, this solid skincare and cosmetics brand is sold in pharmacies, and it's pretty popular (it's also cheaper than in the US...).

Ceralip changed my life! It did a great job repairing my severely cracked lips, and it also works great as a daily nourishing treatment to prevent damage. It comes in a little tube with an angled dispenser, making it easy to apply and more hygienic than pots. The texture is a thick and rich balm, but it doesn't feel heavy on. Most of it gets absorbed by my thirsty lips, while a thin layer remains on top, just enough to keep them comfortable. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky at all, and it's really a relief for dry lips!

Overall, I recommend this lip treatment to anyone who's fighting with dry lips and not finding regular, cheaper lip balms helpful.

  1. This looks so good. I'd love to try it out since my lips need extra treatment in winters.
