Long time no see! How have you been? There's been a lot of changes in my life in 2019 that kept me away from the blog: I moved to San Francisco, and what started as a seasonal job last November became a full time position.
I'm absolutely loving the city life, and my work in retail is pretty fun, especially during the holiday season. Being in a big department store I get to see what presents people are buying for their loved ones, and I thought I'd share the trends I'm noticing. So if you're still looking for the right idea, here are the hot gifts that will be under every Christmas tree this year!

In terms of brands, Patagonia, Ugg, Barefoot Dreams are going strong, so is Chanel for perfumes and beauty. I also see a lot of tech gifts and environment friendly presents, such as clothes made of recycled materials. Since Christmas is getting really close, use the free expedited shipping options that a lot of stores offer for last minute purchases, or do the buy online pick-up in store trick!

TOP 2019 CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR WOMEN

- Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is a best-selling gift again this year, still more popular than the brand's recently launched Airwrap Styler. There's even a red gift edition.

- The Spanx Faux Leather Leggings are a hot item again! Last year the Moto Leggings were the top sellers, but the smooth version is the most popular this holiday season. I own a pair: they're super flattering and very comfy too. I also love their denim leggings, a super stretchy take on skinny jeans that really shapes what I need shaping!

- Pompom beanies! I got myself the Topshop one pictured above (loved the big pink pompom!) but there are a ton to choose from at all price points.

- Faux fur jackets: you get bonus points if it's cropped and boxy like the Patagonia one pictured above. They come in a lot of fun colors too. I got this one and I've been wearing it a lot.

- The Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Robe: that thing is COZY. Perfect for people who like to Netflix and chill during the winter, I've seen it sell really fast.

- Faux fur throw blankets: faux fur really is big this holiday season. These throws give the home a luxe, cozy feel - and they're easy gifts, no size, just pick a neutral color and it's a crowd pleaser.

- A rather unexpected eco-friendly, waste-reducing gift: the Thinx period panties. I've seen a good number of young women buy them as stocking stuffers for their girlfriends!

- I'm not sure about the skin benefits claimed by the brand, but the Slip silk pillowcases do feel amazing and make an easy gift for someone who already has everything. They also make silk sleeping masks.

- When the gift of cozy meets both the pompom craze and a trending brand: the Ugg pompom fleece lined socks. It doesn't get much better for homebodies. A note from my personal experience: they run smallish, so I wouldn't gift them to a girl who wears a shoe size 9 or more.

- Candles that smell good are okay, but what everyone wants is the fun ones like the Anecdote's with their hilarious descriptions or the Cancelled Plans' aptly named creations...

- All the cool kids have been wearing these colorful backpacks with the red Arctic fox: despite a brand name that's impossible to pronounce for most of us, Fjallraven is a big hit for Christmas this year.
