top hydrating gels for hot weather humidity

When the weather gets hot I simply can't stand to use an oily, rich moisturizer on my face. I feel like it suffocates my skin and makes me sweat! So every summer I switch my usual day cream for an oil-free gel moisturizer to get all the hydration my combo skin needs, without the yucky heavy sensation. Keep reading for my selection of the 15 best gel moisturizers to try!

I've tried a lot of these gel moisturizers myself, and the others are on my list of the next products to test. Here are the ones I've used in the recent past:

- H2O+ Oasis Hydrating Treatment: this is one of the lightest gel in this list, but also one of the least hydrating. It's perfect for oily skin or people who live in a very warm, humid climate! It basically feels like water.
- Dior Hydra Life Fresh Hydration Sorbet Creme: this creamy gel melts on the skin and has a light citrusy scent. It's really refreshing yet provides a good amount of moisture. It's the perfect pick for those who love luxury brands! I reviewed it a while back, before Dior updated the packaging last year.
- Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream: one of my favorites of all times! The texture is like no other, it's a light gel-cream that feels like water on the skin. You have to try it for yourself! The only issue I have is that it doesn't always play well with silicone-based makeup primers, it causes some to pill.
- Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Cooling Gel: I've used Clarins skincare for many years, and their revamped Hydra-Essentiel line is one of my favorites. It's very refreshing and perfect for my combination dehydrated skin.
- Lancôme Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Gel Moisturizer: I received this one from Influenster a few weeks ago and I've been loving it. The gel-cream texture is very light but packs a ton of moisture.

Among the ones I haven't tried yet, here are the moisturizers that are at the top of my wishlist:

- the new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly, for its attractive price tag ($28 for a 4.2oz bottle!),
- Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer, because of the intriguing cactus extract,
- Tatcha The Water Cream, because I'm partial to high end brands in case you hadn't noticed!
- L'Occitane Aqua Reotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel Moisturizer, because it's also well-priced, and I'm a big fan of the brand.

Do you prefer to use gel moisturizers in the summer too? What are your favorites?
