crow's feet, puffy eyes aging eyelids crepey fine lines wrinkles

It's been a while since our last chat about skincare, so it's time to talk about good antiaging stuff again. For the past few weeks I've been using NeoStrata's Skin Active eye treatment and I'm ready to report on my experience!

If you don't know NeoStrata, I can tell you they're a solid brand. I've used a handful of their products in the past few years, and everything has been high quality. With their no frills packaging, unscented products and science-based formulas, NeoStrata is serious about making skincare that really works, rather than "skintertainment" products that are fun to use but have no lasting effect. If you need any further evidence that the brand is a leader in antiaging skincare development, you should know that their founders are the two scientists who discovered the benefits of AHA on skin. That should be a good reference!

The Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy is a lightweight gel that comes in a convenient pump bottle. The texture feels fresh and glides on the skin easily. It penetrates very well, leaving absolutely no sticky or greasy residue. I have sensitive eyes, but I've never felt any irritation when using this product. I can apply it on the upper lid without any reaction.

This product is supposed to address two main concerns that affect the eye area, especially for aging skin: fine lines such as crow's feet and puffiness. It contains ingredients that help strengthen and plump the eye area, such as peptides and neoglucosamine that both target collagen production. It also include hyaluronic acid for extra moisture, as well as vitamin E and apple stem cells for their antiaging properties.

I have very dehydrated skin under my eyes, so I need a crazy rich, nourishing eye cream during the day so that my concealer doesn't look too cakey and dry. For this reason I have been using the Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy at night, and I'm very pleased with the results. It does provide a good amount of moisture considering the lightweight gel texture, just not enough for me to use under makeup. If you don't have particularly dry skin though, I think it would make a good base for concealer. It's not sticky or greasy and it doesn't ball up, so it should play well with makeup. Over the course of 3-4 weeks, I noticed that my skin is less crepe-y looking in the under eye area. It looks a bit smoother, and definitely firmer. I don't have major puffiness so I can't really judge its effectiveness on this issue, but the improved firmness is quite noticeable!

Overall

Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy is another NeoStrata product that provides exactly what it claims. I'm very satisfied with the plumping, firming effect of this eye gel that's gentle yet loaded with antiaging ingredients. If it's withing your budget, that's definitely a product I can recommend.
