beauty gift french luxury guide holidays clarins chanel lancome l'occitane

It's that time of year again when the hunt for the best holiday gifts is raging! If you're looking for the perfect present for a trend-setter, a beauty lover or just someone who enjoys pretty things, I've got you covered: I hand-picked a few of the most gift-worthy beauty products by French brands this season. From Chanel cotton pads (yes, Chanel makes cotton pads) to luxury lipstick trios, there's something for everyone and for every budget!

The Showstoppers

Trying to impress? Turn to luxury gifts that are sure to make an impact, from big sets to fancy scented powder!

- Lancôme Le Parisian Beauty Box, $59.50: this huge set contains 11 full-size makeup products, from lipsticks to a blush brush! It's a purchase-with-purchase, meaning that you need to buy any other Lancôme product to be able to get it at this price - aw, you HAVE to buy yourself a lipstick or a nail polish, life is hard! The kit comes in cool or warm shades so you can pick the one that works best for your giftee.

- Dior All-In-One Couture Palette, $89: Dior always make these beautiful travel palettes that come in a faux leather zipped compact for the holidays. This one contains everything a girl needs to create a makeup look, with a face powder, blush, eyeshadows and lipsticks.

- Guerlain Souffle d'Or de Shalimar, $98: press the bulb on this vintage-style blue bottle to release iridescent gold powder for the body and hair, scented with Guerlain's iconic Shalimar fragrance. Guaranteed to make any woman feel fabulous.

Lippies Times Three

Have you noticed that lipsticks and glosses almost always come in sets of three for the Holidays? And why not, the more lippies the better! Here are three sets of three that caught my eye this year.

- Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil Trio, $49: I bought this lip oil in the Red Berry shade earlier this year and I really love it (see my review). It smells incredibly yummy, it looks super shiny and it keeps my lips hydrated and comfortable. I think I'll enjoy it even more in the winter now that my lips are getting insanely dry! This is a great little trio that anyone would enjoy and it even comes in a cute white pouch.

- Lancôme Holiday Matte Lip Collection, $40: this set features another lippie that I love, the Lancôme Color Design Matte Lip Crayon. It contains 3 shades: 200 Nothing To Wear, 300 Bite The Bullet, 320 Partner In Crime. They're all full-size, which makes this set a steal since they retail for $24 each! You can read my review of this easy-to-wear matte lip crayon to see swatches of these shades.

- Holiday Rouge Louboutin Lip Colour Collection, $270: let's venture into luxury territory with this set by Christian Louboutin. The trio features the iconic Louboutin red in three different finishes: satin, matte and sheer. The lipstick tubes look like intricate pendants and the cap is shaped like crown... I wish someone would gift me that set, haha!

The Gift of Good Hair Days

I don't talk about hair very often on this blog - the reason being that I have neither skill nor talent to style my own mane - but haircare is an important part of a well-rounded beauty regimen. There are a lot of high-end, inspiring French brands competing to make our hair mermaid-like, and a beauty enthusiast should be thrilled to discover them.

- Leonor Greyl Luxury Travel Kit, $52: Leonor Greyl is one of those niche brands that hasn't yet garnered much attention stateside, although they have a loyal following in France. This little set made for dry hair contains their best selling Moelle de Bambou cream shampoo (translates as bamboo marrow), L'Huile de Leonor Greyl pre-shampoo treatment oil, and Masque Fleurs de Jasmin, a mask with jasmine flowers and plant oils.

- Klorane x Tangle Teezer #SecondHairDay Set, $32: if you want to do your hair like the French, you've got to stop washing it every day. 2 to 3 times a week is how often you should shampoo. If your hair looks too oily or flat on day 2, don't despair: Klorane's cult dry shampoo has saved many sad manes before yours. The cool thing about this kit is that the uber-popular dry shampoo comes with another haircare staple, the Tangle Teezer, that weird brush that detangles without damaging even the most fragile hair. This is a great little kit for a beauty enthusiast, I know I'd love to receive it!

- Christophe Robin Detangling Boar Bristle Hairbrush, $97: if you want to give a luxury-loving lady the ultimate hair tool, pick this brush. Boar bristles are known to be very gentle on hair and help with frizzing. The body of this brush is made of wood and polished by hand. Yep. Christophe Robin is a hair colorist with a fancy salon in Paris where he colors celebrities' hair, and he has a wide range of haircare products for chemically-treated hair, including his popular Prickly Pear mask.

Stocking Stuffers

Because an exciting present from a French beauty brand doesn't have to break the bank, here's a selection of smaller gifts under $20, from the iconic Bioderma micellar water to Chanel cotton pads, from Avène cold cream lip balm to Dior makeup sponge! Click on the images for details about each item.

Have you started your Holiday shopping yet? Or are you an early bird and have you already found gifts for everyone on your list?
