Bite Beauty Mauvember Lipstick: review, photos, swatches

I'm sure you've heard of Movember, this annual event consisting of growing a moustache during the month of November to raise awareness of health issues men are facing, such as prostate and testicular cancer. Good news for those of us who can't grow a moustache - or who spend a lot of time trying to get rid of it! - thanks to Canadian brand Bite Beauty, we can now participate by doing one of my favorite things: buying a lipstick.

The limited edition Mauvember 2016 is, of course, a shade of mauve, and half of the sales price of $26 is donated to the Movember Foundation. Mauvember is crafted in Bite Beauty's popular Amuse Bouche lipstick formula, made of food grade ingredients including a ton of organic plant oils, such as castor oil, jojoba and argan.

Bite Beauty Mauvember 2016: the lipstick with a moustache

A medium cool pink with strong plummy undertones, Mauvember 2016 is the cutest lipstick I own with its little moustache carved in the bullet! The shade is also very wearable, neither too blue nor too dark, making it a great every day color for fall. The formula is seriously impressive: the lipstick is opaque in one swipe, creamy without being too heavy or slippery, the texture feels very light and thin on the lips, the color is vibrant and lasts until I eat a full meal. It has a surprising citrusy scent, which is very uncommon for a lipstick, but the fragrance disappears after application. I really love this shade and I'm really glad I bought it.

Supporting men's health is also something that I find extremely important. Too often men who have been taught to be tough fail to seek medical attention as soon as they need it, whether it's for cancer screening or mood disorders, delaying treatments that could be life-saving.

Unfortunately Mauvember 2016 lipstick is already sold out, but you can donate directly to the Movember foundation to support the cause. And if you want to try out Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche lipstick formula, which I warmly recommend, they have a ton of beautiful shades in their permanent collection, including an inky blue and a forest green!
