For me summer is the time for light lipsticks and sheer lipglosses in shades of pinks, corals and nudes. I like juicy lips with a veil of bright color, but I also go for good old neutrals to pair with smoky eyes makeup for a night out. And of course, everything needs to be moisturizing to keep those lips comfortable and soft. Take a look at my 10 favorite lip colors for summer, with swatches at the bottom of the post!




1- Lancôme Lip Lover in 336 Orange Manège: I know the shade name suggests an orange hue, but this is really a warm and bright coral. The Lip Lover formula is fantastic if you want a non-sticky, weightless, highly pigmented and long-lasting gloss!

2- NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp: there's a place for a good matte in the summer too, and that's exactly what this creamy liquid matte by NYX is. It's very comfortable and intense with an amazing color payoff. Antwerp is a beautiful coral that leans fuchsia, bright and happy.

3- Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in 629 Mirrored: for those days when I want metallic lips! Mirrored is a pink bronze saturated with reflected particles that makes the lips ultra shiny. Check out my review for more details and swatches.

4- Lancôme Shine Lover in 140 Corail Lover: a hot red coral that's semi-sheer yet delivers a bright pop of color. I adore the Shine Lover formula, it's so comfortable, sits beautifully on the lips with a soft shiny finish and leaves a long-lasting stain behind. 5- L'Oréal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color in 303 Rouge Allegro: this is probably the best high intensity lip gloss you can find at the drugstore: lightweight, non-sticky, super pigmented, shiny and smooth. Rouge Allegro is no red, but a summery warm fuchsia.

6- Lancôme Juicy Shaker in 341 Bohemian Raspberry: adorable, fun, practical and so comfortable, Lancôme's latest lip creation is such a treat! I love to carry this little shaker around, it makes me smile every time I see it in my purse. Bohemian Raspberry, a cooler fuchsia, is one of the most pigmented shades in the range of this lip oil, and it creates a stain that builds up throughout the day. 7- YSL Pop Water Glossy Stain in 203 Eau de Corail: this Pop Water version of the cult Glossy Stain simply blew my mind when it was released last year (see my review). It's semi-sheer, super glossy, and the shine lasts on the lips for hours, even through a meal! Eau de Corail gives a nice veil of peachy coral color.

8- MAC Huggable Lipcolour in Fashion Force: I only just discovered the Huggable lipstick range and I'm so mad at myself for not exploring it earlier! The formula is amazing, very lightweight, comfortable, semi-opaque, shiny and smooth. Fashion Force is a warm peachy coral that looks perfect for summer. It's currently 30% off at all retailers because the shade is discontinued, and I highly recommend getting on sale before it's gone!

9- Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in 03 Red Berry: the perfect nourishing lip oil for summer, with a high shine finish and a hint of red color - plus a yummy scent! I wear this a lot when I want to keep my makeup simple with just a wash of color on the eyes, mascara, bronzer, and juicy lips. Check out my review for lip swatches and more details.

10- Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey: because you always need a good nude in your makeup bag, whatever the season! Whole Lotta Honey is a no brainer I reach for when I want neutral lips, and the Chubby Stick is one of my favorite lip formula of all times. Balmy, shiny, so comfortable and so many pretty shades to choose from!
