Skincare SK-II facial treatment essence HAND Goodnight face cream moisturizer Kiehl's avocado creamy eye treatment Ooh! cacay oil

Being a beauty blogger means that I try a lot of skincare, so my routine is constantly changing. I test a lot of products that are not particularly memorable, but sometimes I come across gems I really enjoy using and that work wonders for my skin. Let's take a look at my most recent discoveries!

- SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

This was sent to me by the lovely Lisa from Midwest Glam (thank you thank you!!), and unfortunately I've been loving it... I say unfortunately because this liquid treatment is about the price per ounce you'd expect truffles pickled in caviar to be! Luckily it's lasting me a long time: the little 1 fl oz bottle is still about 1/3 full, and I've been using 3 to 4 drops daily since the beginning of May. I'll be torn when I finish it and have to decide if I repurchase it or not though...

I use it just after cleansing, in lieu of toner. I get about 4 drops in the palm of one hand, rub both together and pat my face and neck. This Essence has an interesting consistency, it's liquid, yet it doesn't run and drip through my fingers quickly like water would if I tried to keep it in my palm. Like it's a little heavier, or just a tad more viscous? It's really easier to use and not as wasteful as I expected, since you don't need to use a cotton pad. I feel like it helps make my skin smoother and healthier, and the fine lines on my forehead and around my mouth are getting a little less visible.

Lately I've been adding 2 drops of Paula's Choice vitamin C booster to it, and the two products mix very well. The C booster tends to make my face a bit shiny if I mix it with my moisturizer, but it doesn't look of feel greasy at all when added to the SK-II Essence.

Back to the price: the smallest bottle you can find is 2.5 fl oz and it's a cringe-worthy $99 (but I would expect it to last me about 8 months), but there are some discovery sets where you get extra products for the same price, and a cheaper Sephora exclusive set with a 1 fl oz bottle. See below!

- HAND Goodnight Cream

I told you all you need to know about HAND bath and body products a little while ago. Remember, HAND stands for Have A Nice Day! Well I still love their soaps and shower gels, but this Night Cream also turns out to be amazing. At first I thought it might be too heavy for my combination skin, since it contains a lot of plant oils and shea butter, but it actually feels surprisingly light on.

When you scoop it out of its cute glass jar, it does feel like a rich cream, but it's fully absorbed very quickly by my skin and it leaves my face almost matte. No greasy mess! I could even use it in the morning for that matter! I was very pleasantly surprised, and I've been using it happily for several months, still not feeling like it's too heavy now that the weather is hot. It moisturizes my skin nicely and makes it silky soft.

Besides the formula is loaded with great natural ingredients, a lot of them organic! Here's the full list: aqua (water), cetearyl alcohol, glycerin*, tridecyl cocoate, glyceryl stearate SE, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, argania spinosa (argan) oil*, glycine soja (soybean) oil*, oryza sativa (rice) starch, sodium hyaluronate, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter*, cera alba (beeswax)*, nasturtium officinale (watercress) extract, camelia sinensis extract, dicaprylyl ether, lecithin, tocopherol, ascorbyl palmitate, citric acid, lactic acid, sodium phytate, niacin, retinyl palmitate, parfum (fragrance), phenethyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sodium dehydroacetate. *= organic farming certificate
Pretty impressive, right? I would even say amazing considering it's only $18! I'm seriously considering repurchasing it when I'm done with the jar, because you don't come across such a great value very often in skincare, especially with a beautiful texture like that.

- Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado

Guys I think I'm getting old. Usually my undereye area gets really parched in the winter, with a lot of lines caused by dehydration, but it all gets better by the end of spring. This year, not so much. It's mid-July now, and the skin under my eyes is still so desperately dry that no eye cream could fix it - that is, until I found Kiehl's avocado eye balm.

I had been struggling with that wrinkly appearance that made all of my concealers crease like crazy for a while when I started hunting for a super duper nourishing eye cream. I read thousands of reviews on dozens of products, and I finally decided to try this eye treatment. Not too pricey, available in a small jar so I wouldn't waste too much if I didn't like it, and highly recommended by most users, I thought I should give it a try. And I'm glad I did.

The Eye Treatment with avocado is a very rich, buttery balm with a light yellowish green color (like unripe avocado). The texture is rather heavy and thick, but it melts well on the skin and doesn't leave my undereyes greasy at all. It also works well under makeup, and, most importantly, it really helps with the dehydration lines. It didn't cause me to break out in that area either. The avocado oil is high up the ingredients list, and I think it works really well for me - years ago I actually used pure avocado oil by itself as an eye treatment, but the problem is that it travels into the eye too easily.

I'm really loving this eye cream and I recommend it to people with dry undereyes! You only need a ridiculously small amount (like really really little of it) so the small 0.5 oz jar is going to last me a while. There's a larger 0.95 oz but I would never be able to finish it before it expires. Sometimes you can also find special edition packagings that benefit charities.

- Ooh! Natural Cacay Anti-Aging Face Oil

Apparently cacay is the new argan oil. Yeah I know, the name sounds ridiculous, but this oil extracted from an Amazonian nut contains 3 times more vitamin A than rosehip oil and 50% more vitamin E than argan oil, plus a large amount of linoleic acid, omega 3 and 6.

I received this little vial to try from British brand Oils Of Heaven (Ooh!, looks like beauty brands love acronyms these days) and I've been using it to treat dry patches. It kind of smells like roasted peanut, it's quite yummy really! Despite being very nourishing, it's one of those oils that sink into the skin really well and don't feel too slippery and greasy after being absorbed. It works wonders at making the dry patches disappear overnight! I also need only a tiny amount for each use. I haven't tried using it all over my face yet (the scent might be a bit overwhelming then) but it's a great natural quick fix for dryness.

Ooh! is available online on their own UK-based website that delivers worldwide for free. And with the Pound being at its lowest these days it's a good time to buy stuff from there if you're in the US!
