Lorac Pink Champagne Palette: Photos, Swatches, First Impressions

I didn't do much shopping during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales this year, but I did buy Lorac's Pink Champagne Palette, an Amazon exclusive. I thought it was only going to be available for a short period of time, since it was presented as a Cyber Monday deal, but as it turns out it's still available for purchase. I don't know how long it will last, so I wanted to share pictures, swatches and my first impressions with you as soon as possible. Let's go!

The palette comes in a beautiful compact covered with what feels like textured silk in a shiny pale pink hue. It contains 4 eyeshadows in pans of different sizes, a blush, a bronzer and a highlighter.

- the matte peachy camel on the top left is an eyeshadow. It feels very soft to the touch, but it doesn't show up much on my skin tone. I wish Lorac had replaced this shade with an ivory or light beige shade, it would have been much more versatile;

- the second eyeshadow is a medium matte brown, also very soft, but a little sheer;

- next comes a warm, coppery gold with a lot of shimmer. It's a bit dryer than the mattes in this palette, and also semi-sheer;

- the last eyeshadow is a beautiful matte plummy brown, soft but again not super-pigmented;

- the blush is a light, warm matte pink that seems quite sheer but should be easy to build. It feels very finely milled and soft;

- the bronzer has a similar texture. It looks fairly neutral in the pan but it turns very warm on my skin (although not quite as much in reality as in the swatch);

- the highlighter is a rich metallic white with a lovely sheen.

Top to bottom: highlighter, bronzer, blush, and the 4 eyeshadows

As you can see most of the powders in this palette are mattes, and they all feel silky soft. The pigmentation doesn't look too impressive, but I'm hoping that it will work well on top of a good primer. I really like the design of this palette with the pans in different sizes, it looks simple and modern.

Where to buy: Amazon, retail price is $19.

What do you think of this palette? Did you buy it, or are you tempted?
