The serum is an antioxidant powerhouse designed to prevent future signs of aging, so it can be used both by younger beautystas who want to keep the youthful appearance of their skin as well as more mature men and women looking to correct and prevent further damage. Here's what the brand has to say about this serum:
"Protect skin from future signs of aging with this serum formulated with 8 powerful multi-action antioxidants designed to combat oxidative damage. Patented Bionic and Polyhydroxy Acids trap oxidation promoting metals like iron and help prevent sun-induced cellular damage. The potent combination of Citric Acid and Lilac, Green Tea and Chardonnay Grape Seed Extracts works together to neutralize five different types of free radicals and helps preserve healthy DNA, lipids and cellular membranes. In addition, this super potent source of EGCG Green Tea Extract protects against inflammatory mediators in the skin."
You might wonder how to you use a serum, and if it's really that important. A serum is a concentrate of active ingredients, and you can find serums addressing any skincare concern you could think of: dryness, lack of radiance, oiliness, uneven texture, sun damage, acne... Unlike a moisturizer, a serum's primary function is not to hydrate your skin (except for hydrating serums!) and protect it for the day/night, it's meant to correct a specific issue with a blend of powerful and targeted ingredients. Serums typically have a fluid texture, and they're made to be applied before your moisturizer, after cleansing and toning. I've been using serums in my skincare routine for at least 10 years, and I think they make a tremendous difference. Can you live without a serum? You sure can, but if you're trying to achieve healthy, radiant skin, you can hardly expect to succeed without the added benefits brought by a serum.
