As of today and for about a week, the blog is in vacation mode! When this post goes live, I'll be on my way to Kaua'i where I'll be camping, hiking and snorkeling for about a week. Therefore, you'll be reading "lighter", shorter posts for a little while, and comments might not be approved or replied to for a week or so (if you've commented before, your comments will generally be approved automatically).

Today, I want to show you what's been on my makeup radar for fall. Fall in San Diego often doesn't start until Halloween, so I usually keep wearing my summer makeup faves late into October. I'm excited by the fall collections, but to be honest I have no desire to wear them right now in this heat (writing this with a sweaty face)! Not mentioned here is Lancôme fall collection, not that I'm not interested, but I haven't had a chance to swatch the products myself yet, neither have I seen swatches online. I might add some of their new releases to my wish list once I've seen more about them. Oh and there's also ColourPop, but there are so many things I want from them that I'll need to do one specific post!

Here are a few of the new makeup products that have caught my eye and that I'm considering purchasing:

Nars Fall 2015

Oaxaca Velvet Shadow Stick: a light taupe pearl. I fell in love with this color as soon as I saw the first swatches, but I'm torn... as pretty as it is, Christine at Temptalia gave it an F for being dry, not very pigmented and hard to blend. I quickly swatched it at a counter and it seemed OK to me, so I might see for myself by ordering from a retailer with a good return policy.

Pasiphae Dual Intensity Eyeshadow: a duochrome warm brown with green pearl. So pretty!

Tarte Fall 2015 Energy Noire

Energy Noire Palette: I'm cheating a little bit here, if you follow me on Instagram you know that I've already bought it. But, because of the weather conditions I previously mentioned, I haven't even swatched it yet! I was really excited about this harmony of muted shades, from taupes and dirty lilac to mauve and purple, but I'm a bit concerned by reports of the matte shades being dry and chalky - most shadows in this palette are matte. Sometimes shadows swatch poorly and perform fine on the lid with a good primer, hopefully it will be the case here.

Energy Noire LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint: also already bought, this is my first ever self-adjusting lipgloss. On my arm it swatches super sheer, but I haven't tried it on my lips yet. I like the idea of a pH-adjusting tint in a mauve color (I'm not really into pink).

MAC Cosmetics

Since I won a $50 MAC giftcard at the weekly giveaway hosted by lovely Karen at makeupandbeautyblog.com (doing a happy dance!), I'm planning to do a little bit of shopping there after my vacation! On my list:
D for Danger Matte Lipstick: from the recently released new Matte collection (it's a permanent shade). Gorgeous deep pink red, I can't wait to put my paws on this one!

Rare Breed Mineralize Rich Lipstick: from the Haute Dogs collection, although I doubt it will still be available by mid-September. It looks like a perfect nude for fall with a hint of shimmer.

Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Silver Sun: it's a frosty golden green, that I think could look great with Sephora Snakeskin Dress eyeshadow in the outer V. I haven't tried the Extra Dimension formula yet and with all the rave reviews I'm reading, I'm excited to test it!

Dior Fall 2015 Cosmopolite
Continental Lipstick: looks like the perfect subdued plummy brown for fall/winter to me. I love Dior lipsticks in general and I haven't bought one in a while. Now would be a good time (my credit card disagrees)!

Dior Vernis in Cosmopolite: a plummy bordeaux, again a perfect seasonal shade. I also like Metropolis, a grayish green, but I think China Glaze has something similar coming in their fall collection (for much cheaper).

New Dior Addict Lipstick: you probably know that the Dior Addict lipstick formula is being revamped and relaunched this fall. The release was announced for September 4th, but I've already spotted the new babies on Nordstrom's website. Not sure yet what shades I might be tempted by, although City Lights is the one that stands out right now.

Clinique

Cheek Pop Blush in Fig Pop: I've already told you that I have an obsession for anything called fig (or chesnut)! It looks like a nice color too, and I like the one I already have, Peach Pop. It's easy to blend and has a soft, natural finish.

Pop Lip Color & Primer in Cherry Pop: ever since swatching this rich, blue-toned fuchsia red a couple month ago, I've been wanting to add it to my collection. Come home little Cherry pop!

YSL Fall 2015
Metal Clash Couture Palette: I like the combo of shades here, I think they'd work really well together to create a look in colors that I don't use often enough.

Touche Eclat Blur Primer: I just reviewed it last #FrenchFriday after trying a sample and really liked it. It works great at blurring my pores and boosting radiance. The full-size shall be mine!

Other
Sephora Brow Thickener: I don't usually shop at Sephora, because they didn't treat me well and I'm one to hold a grudge for all eternity, but I haven't really seen anything similar by any other brand. This is a powder brow product with a velvety applicator. I swatched it in a store and really liked the buildable intensity. It also seems easy to use - and I need that!

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes: because my under-eyes need a lot of hydration and good coverage (hello genetic dark circles!). I'm finishing a similar product by Dior that's fine but nothing to write home about, and I'll probably replace it with this one.

Buxom single eyeshadow in Posh Purple (forgot to put it on the pic, it's $12 as a refill, works with the new Buxom custom palette system): I saw Karen's swatches on makeupandbeautyblog.com, and now I want it. Good blue-toned purple shadows are not that easy to come by, and this one looks like it has great pigmentation.

What's your wish list for fall? Anything here that you've already tested?
