Almay is one of these drugstore brands that I had never seen before moving to the US. For some reason I wasn't particularly attracted to their products, and it took me over a year to finally test one, the Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm. I'm really glad that I did!
The fact that I have dry lips all year round makes me reach for comfortable and moisturizing products as much as I can. I love a good gloss, and since this one was promising to soften and hydrate my lips, I decided to give it a try. I was instantly convinced, so much that, as you can see, I bought multiple shades - the $5.99 price tag helped, especially after sales and with coupons.
This liquid balm feels creamy and cushiony, but not heavy, sticky or greasy at all. It's very comfortable and it does bring some extra moisture to the lips, although I would not count on it to repair severely chapped lips.

The colors are mostly milky, without noticeable shimmer, semi-sheer to sheer and the balm leaves a beautiful glossy finish. I really love wearing these little balms, I probably had one in my purse every single day this summer. Applying it is easy as a breeze with the doe foot applicator. The range of color is limited but there's all the basic shades you need, from nude to plum, coral and red. These balms have a relatively pleasant vanilla scent (think MAC lip products, but lighter) that quickly dissipates after application. The wear time is as expected for this kind of product, pretty short, so you'll want to reapply throughout the day.

Overall: I highly recommend Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm if you like moisturizing gloss and you're looking for a good deal.
Where to buy: at your local drugstore, or online. As a side note, these balms don't have a seal, just a sticker on the side that can easily be peeled off and put back in place by the disgusting people who feel entitled to open products in drugstores and try them on. For this reason, I strongly advise purchasing them online.
